Neighborhood Healthcare Riverside PACE
Riverside, CA
This new PACE center, the first of its kind for Neighborhood Healthcare, brings primary care, rehab, and community activity space to the senior population of Riverside, California. With the addition of a separate FQHC clinic on the second floor, this 27,700 s.f. tenant improvement provides a comprehensive array of services for the surrounding community.
A wraparound floorplan surrounds a central courtyard on the first level, providing sheltered outdoor access and allowing natural light to permeate the building’s interior spaces. Radiating out from the courtyard are an open, window-lined PT gym, a dedicated PACE clinic, several activity rooms, lounge space, and kitchen and dining areas. The design of the day center prioritizes a residential feel, with soothing ocean-hued upholstery, custom casework in cool wood tones, and a vapor-based “fireless” fireplace in the lounge.
The second floor of the building is home to an FQHC clinic offering primary care, dental, behavioral health services, and pharmacy. The clinic includes a separate entrance and waiting area, delineating it from the day center downstairs. Adjacent to the clinic, administrative space houses offices and staff break areas. Additional shell space was equipped for future expansion.
As a high level of coordination was required between the owner, developer, and design team, the general contractor was brought on early in the project. Because of this, the BA team and GC were able to collaborate to identify design solutions that would more easily integrate with the building’s existing infrastructure, resulting in decisions that positively impacted the project budget.
