Senior Associate - Architecture

Mary has always been motivated by beautiful design and appreciates the fulfillment of the creative process, no matter the project type or its scale. Healthcare architecture offers her the challenge of space planning, likening it to a puzzle where you must understand the needs of all the end users to piece together a thoughtful design that will best support them all. She believes designing for functionality and beauty go hand-in-hand and must be prioritized on every project.

Mary manages people and processes both internal and external to BA, as well as pull planning, programming, space planning, and managing user group meetings. She is also known for detailing, a design stage during which she finds “those small moments that elevate design and spatial experience.” Mary holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia and has been with BA since 2006.
