The goal of this project is to increase the hospital’s surgical capabilities, bed capacity and parking capacity. The Surgery Expansion is comprised of a two level expansion adjacent to the existing ED and Surgery Departments along with a single level vertical expansion adjacent to Surgery and above the existing Children’s Emergency Department.

​​​​​​​The two level expansion consists of shell space for a future Emergency Department and Surgery expansion. The Surgery portion of the project consists of renovations that provide additional pre-op holding space, space for the Pathology Laboratory and storage space. The two-level expansion provides space for four new Orthopedic ORs and shell space for two future ORs. The additional Inpatient Unit is for a 24-bed Ortho/Spine Joint Unit located in existing shell space. Parking capacity is increased with the construction of a 63,000 s.f. single story parking deck to accommodate approximately 180 cars.
